One of the first sounds Sarah O’Neel remembers is the satisfying thwock of a hammer pounding a nail into a fresh 2”x 4”.
Before she was in kindergarten, she was visiting her dad’s job sites, as he built over 10,000 homes in Sonoma County. There’s still something about the smell of freshly poured cement and newly cut wood that takes her back to her childhood.
Today, that great feeling of watching a community grow from the foundation up is an even larger part of her life. In 1998, Sarah founded Sonoma Family Homes to carry on the tradition of homebuilding she grew up with, and to begin a new tradition. Sarah’s father develops the land and utilities, but the homebuilding is all Sarah.
